Application1: The turbidity sensor (T1) at filter inlet provides information about the load of total solids inside the unfiltered liquid. A high particle content will reduce the operating time of the filter and raises the filtration cost.
Application 2: The exact dosage of filter cell. The difference of measuring signals of turbidity sensor T2 and turbidity sensor T1 (T2-T1) results the current filter cell concentration. A PID- controller uses the difference signal to control the speed of the pump (P1). The controller decreases the pump speed in case of too high filter cell concentration and increases the speed of the pump in case of too low cell concentration. This dosage system optimizes the filter cell requirement and increases the operating time of the filter. The system safes additional cost, because of the expenses in purchasing, recycling and waste diposal of filter cells.
Application 3: The turbidity sensor at filter outlet (T3) records the quality of the filtrated liquid. The turbidimeter controls the 3- way valve (V) and switches it to refiltration in case of to high turbidity. Already filtrated product is potected against contamination. The time requirement after the start of the filteration process or after a filter back rinsing will be reduced to a minimum.
